The Saturday Farmers Market at Center Green is a weekly favorite for hundreds of Carmel residents all summer long. What’s not to love about the beautiful surroundings, the vast array of produce and other Indiana goods, and live music to round off the perfect atmosphere? We’re sure you have your own favorites (or will after just one trip around the circle), but to whet your appetite, here are a few of our favorite treats the market has to offer.
Lisa’s Pie Shop
Nothing says downhome cooking quite like a fresh-from-the oven pie. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but top of our list has to be the Dutch Apple. No, wait, maybe Pecan? No…it’s got to be Strawberry Rhubarb.
The Walking Waffle Company
You’ll know you’ve arrived at Walking Waffle by the line stretching to the center of the Green. There’s a special texture and flavor that comes from these waffles’ yeast-risen dough, and you’ll feel like a kid again as you hem and haw over which of their delicious toppings to choose.
Dad’s Sweet Corn
We can’t think of anything more motivating for getting out of bed early on a Saturday morning than to join the never ending parade of corn on the cob enthusiasts waiting to grab their generous dozen or half dozen bagged up on the spot from the back of Dad’s truck. The corn doesn’t arrive until mid summer, but it will be worth the wait.
