Smart Apps for Stress Release

Technology is great for a lot of things, but “smartphone” and “stress release” aren’t often found in the same sentence. While our phones literally give us the world at our fingertips, they also keep us constantly engaged and remove the opportunity for much needed power-down time. The following apps, however, are designed to give you just that—little breaths of fresh air in an otherwise on-the-go life:

  • Silk: Use your finger to select happy or calming colors and draw pretty, symmetric designs on your screen. Like digital spin art, you can also save and share your creations with your friends.
  • Headspace: Meditation has increasingly been found to provide all sorts of positive health benefits. Use this approachable, easy-to-follow app to guide you through daily 10-minute meditations.
